BMC_180
BMC offers everything that gets a cyclist’s heart racing: From high-performance racing bikes, all categories of mountain bikes, and independently developed E:Bikes to city and lifestyle bikes and kids bikes. BMC is the Swiss brand from Grenchen, Switzerland that stands for premium bikes with an original design, high-precision technology and the best performance throughout the world. BMC is at home in racing, whether in the peloton of the Tour de France, on the trails of the cross country World Cup or at the high-class triathlons on every continent.

CycleLifeUSA stocks a wide range of BMC and Stromer bikes, including the GranFondo, TimeMachine and TeamMachine pro level race bikes, as well as the AlpenChallenge city  and lifestyle bikes and Stromer electric bikes.

In its first year, Independent Fabrication designed to its strengths – forging the best steel mountain bike frames the industry had ever seen. Riders agreed, and the cult following the company began to grow. Independent Fabrications quickly became a complete cycling manufacturer known as an industry leader in custom metal bikes.

Today the IF team of artists and fabricators continue to push the envelope by using the newest metal technologies and refining accepted techniques. But even as production methods become more sophisticated with the use of carbon fiber and titanium, the IF team continues to make bikes by hand and respects the craftsmanship of the old way. But they’ll never stop doing things their own way. THAT’S INDEPENDENT FABRICATION.

Over the last decade, Parlee has pioneered a host of industry firsts: the first customizable carbon fiber racing frames; Flex Fit semi-custom geometry; and the first sub-800 gram carbon fiber frame are just a few. But unlike other manufacturers who chase trends and invoke unnecessary styling into their bikes, Parlee’s technological developments follow a natural progression. By always thinking about how to make its bikes better, as a product driven company, Parlee has organically evolved, with each model seamlessly building on the success of its predecessor.

Parlee focuses attention where attention matters: carbon fiber lay-up schedules and torsional tube design. By utilizing the correct shapes and tube densities, Parlee is able to reach cycling’s Holy Grail: the delicate balance between torsional stiffness and vertical compliance and is widely recognized as the industry leader in fully customized carbon bikes. Their bikes have become collectors’ items for people who ride a lot and know the difference.

Moots has been building high-performance titanium bike frames and components at their factory in Steamboat Springs, Colorado since 1981. Each bike is meticulously fashioned out of premium US-made titanium tubing, allowing them to design every bike to the specific needs of the frame style and individual rider. Their purposeful design philosophy, knowledge of the unique characteristics of titanium, and relentless focus on craftsmanship come together in the creation of true lifetime bikes—whether your preference is asphalt, dirt or both. Each tube miter and each weld, in every single frame they build, is done by hand. Checked by hand. Finished by hand. Polished by hand. Only then do they apply their head badge. By hand, of course. When you want the best custom titanium bike, look no further than Moots. Their goal is to build each customer the best-fitting, finest-riding bike they will ever own.
Boo Bicycles builds racing level bamboo-carbon bike frames by hand. Every frame is custom made to order and all types of bikes are created, from road to ‘cross to mountain to touring to townie. The goal of Boo Bicycles has been to create high performance bicycles that are also supple, smooth, and comfortable. These traits had previously been mutually exclusive: you could not have your cake and eat it, too. However, Boo has successfully married two composite materials, one natural, one synthetic, to create the optimum blend of performance and comfort.

The secret is starting to get out: Cycle Life is an amazing fitness resources and a five-star facility tucked away on K Street in Georgetown.

Fitting

Bike fit is paramount to achieving the most comfortable, efficient and enjoyable riding experience. CycleLifeUSA is committed to helping every cyclist find their ideal fit depending on their particular needs and objectives. We stay abreast of the most advance fitting methods and have cutting edge tools to help us in our work with you as an individual rider. Our main objective is to adapt the bike to you, not the other way around.

To get the best riding experience on any terrain, you need to find your unique active riding position which will help you climb faster, descend more confidently, and ride with less fatigue. This position is achieved by working with a trained CycleLifeUSA specialist who has a complete understanding of your unique biomechanics and desired experience. CycleLifeUSA offer various levels of fit services depending upon your individual needs for your existing bike, for new stock bikes and for custom bikes. We can help you with your fit whether you ride for recreation, road, mountain bike, cyclocross, or triathlons and time trials.

To understand you and how you ride, our fit specialist will ask about your goals and measure your physical capabilities and strengths. Next, he will adjust the bike for you and recommend solutions to improve comfort and enjoyment, while boosting performance.

CycleLifeUSA leverages two fitting systems, Body Geometry and Retul to bring you the ultimate in Fitting Services. Our fit specialists have been trained in these methods through intensive Specialized and Retul courses and have worked directly with senior Specialized instructors, Dr. Pruitt and the founders of Retul.

Retul Fit Concepts

Slight inaccuracies (the difference of millimeters) can drastically change a rider's feel after a ride. The Retül system is accurate to within less than a millimeter, creating true objective data which can be utilized by the fitter for the perfect biomechanical fit.

Dynamic Fitting

Using motion capture technology, Retül records a rider’s position while he or she is in motion; therefore, creating the most realistic picture of the rider’s actual pedal strokes and body positions when out on the road and trails.

Biomechanics Assessed in 3D Space

Fit data collected in a traditional two-dimensional plane (such as video) is fairly limited because the fitter has to isolate a single view at a time. In order to see how all of the applicable movements of the body are working together, the frontal and sagittal planes of a rider should be viewed as interdependent reference points.

Measurement accuracy is vital

Slight inaccuracies (the difference of millimeters) can drastically change a rider’s feel after a ride. The Retül system is accurate to within less than a millimeter, creating true objective data which can be utilized by the fitter for the perfect biomechanical fit.

Body Geometry Fit

To provide you with the best riding experience on any terrain, it’s important to find your unique active riding position, which will help you climb faster, descend more confidently, and ride with less fatigue. This is achieved in conjunction with a trained Body Geometry specialist who has a complete understanding of your unique biomechanics and desired experience. Body Geometry is the most complete system to help you become one with your bike. The Body Geometry fit method was developed in a joint venture between Dr. Andy Pruitt, Director of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, and Specialized, because they felt it was the biggest opportunity to improve the riding experience for any level of cyclist.

Rider Profile Interview

Every fit, whether a novice or experienced cyclist, starts with an interview between the trained fit specialist and rider to understand a rider’s injury history, needs, and goals.

Physical Assesment

This is the key to the Body Geometry fit process, allowing a fit specialist to develop an accurate picture of a rider’s flexibility and other physical attributes, so he’ll be able to make the proper adjustments to help you be one with your bike.

Side View

Assessed from the side, the goal is to determine their unique active riding position that’s both powerful and comfortable through adjustments to seat height, handlebar position, stem length, and cleat placement.fit.

Front View

Unique to the Body Geometry fit process, this frontal view analysis will optimize your hip, knee, and foot alignment for greater performance and balanced power delivery.

Follow Up

After a week or so, the fit specialist will be available for a follow-up to ensure the adjustments were effective and to answer any other questions or concerns you may have.
