CYCLELIFE USA SPONSORS PEDICABS TO AID
WASHINGTON D.C. INAUGURATION GRIDLOCK
The Nation’s Premier Recreational Cycling Facility Works To Put Pedal Power To Work
January 16, 2009; Washington, DC --- CycleLifeUSA, the nation’s premier recreational cycling facility, today announced that it will sponsor a fleet of Pedicabs, in an attempt to ease the gridlock expected starting this weekend in Washington, D.C. due to the influx of people for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. The CycleLife USA Pedicab fleet will be able to get people around the city quickly and efficiently, using cycling power as opposed to gas. The fleet is expected to hit the streets on Friday.
“CycleLife USA is all about finding ways to use cycling to make the Capital District cleaner, healthier and more efficient in commuting, and the CycleLife Pedicabs will speak to all of those goals for visitors and residents alike this weekend,” said CEO Michael Sanchez. “We hope that this assistance will make the inauguration weekend run as smoothly as possible for all coming to town.”
Last year Washington, D.C. was voted the Number One Most Improved City for Cycling by Bicycle magazine" much to the credit of Mayor Adrian M. Fenty who is a well-known tri-athlete and cyclist. “Cycling is an activity that helps promote a cleaner and greener D.C., and has the great benefit of promoting a healthier lifestyle to those who participate. Our City is leading the cycling movement,” said Mayor Fenty.
“The city will need all the help it can get to ease congestion on our streets for the next five days,” said Michael Sanchez. “CycleLife has stepped up to that challenge by sponsoring these pedicabs for one of the nation’s best cycling cities. They are a great option for all coming to town for the inauguration.”
Cycle Life is a 2-story, 12,000 square foot facility on the shore of the Potomac River in the historic Georgetown area of Washington D.C. which brings under one roof the most complete array of services, equipment and amenities ever put together, and delivers them to cyclists with a level of customer service that is closer to a luxury European resort than a Main Street bike store. While some major bicycle retailers in America have broadened their offerings and offer more
than simple retail, no facility comes close to offering what is the heart of CycleLife: Best-in-class equipment and apparel; aviation-quality maintenance and service; computer-aided fitting, fitness testing, training and coaching; a broad range of classes, rides, seminars and advocacy activities; and a completely unique, membership program that combines social activity, creature comforts and personal service second to none.
